About Us
Humble Cake is a family business guided by the enthusiasm of Gemma, who is a graduate of Leiths School of Food & Wine. Also part of the team are the chickens, who live in the garden and produce the golden yolked free range eggs that go into our cakes. As with the eggs we pay particular attention to where all our ingredients come from, to ensure they are of the highest quality available and wherever possible are local, organic and seasonal. All these elements are important to us. Buying locally supports businesses in the Norfolk and Suffolk area as well as reducing food miles that contribute to carbon emissions. Organic means a more natural product that is free from pesticides. Harnessing nature’s seasonal delights enables the taste of fruit (and sometimes vegetables), used in our cakes, to be enjoyed at their best and most flavoursome. In addition none of our cakes contain hydrogenated fats (which can cause heart disease) or preservatives and all are suitable for vegetarians.
Our Passion
Humble Cake is passionate about baking delicious wholesome cakes. Consistent quality and taste is achieved by freshly baking in small batches, using the finest ingredients.
Ethical Baking
Humble Cake tries its hardest to behave in a responsible and ethical way. We ensure the minimum of packaging is used and that wherever practical it is recyclable. To keep both the planet & us happy our kitchen is run on green electricity.
